THE AIM TEAM (Human)

CARRIE SCHLACHTER, VMD, DIPLOMAT ACVSMR

Dr. Carrie’s practice focuses on integrative sports medicine, rehabilitation and behavioral therapy. Happy, healthy horses won’t get hurt as easily. She founded and designed Circle Oak Equine Sports Medicine’s rehabilitation and fitness programs and AIM is a continuation of that quest for knowledge. Located at Chicken Foot Ranch in Penngrove, CA AIM is a place for the horses.

She is a FEI official delegate in jumpers and is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Carrie serves on the ACVSMR’s examination committee as well as the American Association of Equine Practitioners Scientific Review & Editorial committee.

Dr. Schlachter also enjoys teaching for Equinology and it’s associates around the world as well as lecturing on sports medicine, rehabilitation and digital diagnostic imaging. She has, with her partners Dr. Nicole Rombach and Debranne Patillo, started the Academy of Animal Sport Science (www.academyofanimalsportscience.com) which offers an equine rehabilitation certificate program for licensed professionals and veterinarians.

DR. HALEY GREENBANK

Dr. Haley Greenbank grew up in Eastern, Canada and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC). Throughout her degree she trained and competed in dressage. In her final year at AVC she completed her Veterinary Acupuncture course through Chi University. After graduation, she pursued additional training through a sports medicine internship at TD Equine in Calgary, Alberta. During this time, she worked as an FEI permitted treating vet at Spruce Meadows. Haley’s veterinary interests include sports medicine, acupuncture and preventive care. In her spare time Haley enjoys hiking with her dog Sawyer, horseback riding and skiing.

LISA BROOKER - RANCH MANAGER

Lisa came to us with a non-horsey background (former EPA Environmental chemist) and has made the transition to being a ‘horse-person’ seemless. She is currently learning all aspects of equine behavior through personal experiences and online training. The AIM team loves her, she is always willing to work the odd hours and jumps in feet first into all aspects of AIM and CFR.

ELISE DUBAISSON - BEHAVIORIST & RRF VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Elise Dubuisson comes to AIM with more than 10 years in the animal care field. She has experience caring for both domestic and exotic animals in a variety of settings including, animal sanctuaries, zoological facilities and privately owned organizations. Throughout her career Elise has specialized in positive reinforcement training, specifically focused on training for advanced medical behaviors. Additionally, she received a certification in ungulate hoof trimming and has had the opportunity to trim a variety of animals from giraffes to zebra to domestic livestock. With AIM and Rooster Run, she hopes to develop enrichment and behavioral plans to help address the needs of the individual animal residents in RRF.

CHEYENNE VALLEY

AYA AMENT (A-ya), CEBW - CLINIC MANAGER

Aya is a Certified Equine Bodyworker. She grew up in a small town hidden in the mountains of Northern California called Willow Creek. Here she found her passion for horses on her first ride bareback on an old paint mare, showing in 4H and trail riding through the mountains. From there she was determined to work with horses one way or another. She started her college career receiving her AA in Agriculture and then pursued her BS at University of California, Davis. Along this journey she has gained experience working with horse trainers, breeding barns, boarding barns, taught lessons and worked with veterinarians. Her love for animals goes much further than just horses, she also has a love for dogs, cats, chickens and just about anything that will her pet them.

Adapt to the moment. Adapt to your real life. Stop wishing things will get better. They are better. If you want them to be. How? Start with your awareness. Inner awareness. How do you feel? Then, think on what to do. The how is important. You know you live in a tumultuous time filled with feelings, loudness and weird behaviors. What can you do? Become the calm in the storm. Practice your values, talents and principles.
